Scene Magazine is a Sacramento regional publication dedicated to bringing consumers information on activities, entertainment, news, and more to encourage locals and tourists to go out and explore the Sacramento region. The magazine would be released quarterly based on the season and feature specific places and activities.

The goal was to design the magazine in a way to encourage readers to look through the content and then hopefully go check out the places/activities for themselves.

The magazine differentiates from the competition by using triangular/angled shapes and lines to create a sense of motion in order to have the reader’s eye to move along the pages of the magazine with interesting crops of photos, colors, and light reading.

​

The type chosen is a pairing of Univers LT Std for the main header and the body copy and Myriad Pro for the subheads. Both are sans serif and have a wide range of font families making it legible for readers and flexible in design.
